AI image and menu accuracy policy

Purpose and current status

This policy explains how restaurants and their guests should understand images and menu information produced with MenuFrame. It is an operational transparency policy, not legal advice, and it does not claim certified legal compliance. Qualified legal review may update it as the product or relevant guidance changes.

The current product is in early access, so workflows and features may change as they are tested with restaurants.

Illustrative images

Generated and AI-assisted images may be illustrative. They are not verified photographs unless explicitly stated. Outputs may differ from served dishes in ingredients, portions, plating, colours, and presentation.

MenuFrame will visibly identify AI-generated illustrative examples. An image should help communicate the intended dish, not be treated as proof of exactly what a guest will receive.

Restaurant review and approval

Restaurants remain responsible for factual menu data, allergen information, prices, and final approval before publication or print. This includes reviewing imagery and checking dish names, descriptions, ingredients, availability, currency, taxes, portions, and visual presentation against the restaurant's current offer.

Restaurants remain responsible for correcting or withholding any output that is inaccurate, misleading, outdated, or unsuitable for their guests.

Allergens, diets, nutrition, and compliance

MenuFrame does not infer or certify allergens, dietary suitability, nutrition, or legal compliance. Restaurants must supply and verify any allergen, dietary, nutritional, tax, pricing, consumer-information, or other regulated information that applies to their menu.

Restaurants should obtain appropriate professional advice when they need guidance on rules that apply to them.

Source information and rights

Restaurants must provide accurate source information for menu items and venue details. They must also have the rights and permissions needed to use any supplied photos, logos, menu content, or other references.

Reference material should not be supplied if it is confidential, misleading, unlawfully obtained, or used without the necessary permission.

Labelling and disclosure

MenuFrame will preserve available provenance metadata and apply machine-readable marking where applicable and technically feasible. For MenuFrame examples, visible disclosure remains required even if downstream processing strips or fails to preserve that metadata.

MenuFrame review

MenuFrame reviews its own output pipeline to check whether visible labelling, machine-readable marking, and provenance preservation are working as intended.

Corrections and reports

MenuFrame accepts correction and provenance reports, including reports about inaccurate images, menu items, missing disclosures, or lost metadata, atsupport@menuframe.app. Please identify the restaurant, menu, or image involved and describe what should be reviewed.

MenuFrame reviews those reports and, where warranted, corrects affected MenuFrame-controlled examples or updates its output pipeline.
